Share Securely: new “External” and "Landlord" roles, simplified Member role, and a clearer permission model

What’s new — at a glance

  • New “External” and “Landlord” roles — invite owners, lenders, or other third parties to view an asset without giving them edit rights.

  • Allocate Access to new invitees — when inviting new users, you are now able to assign group & asset access right after sending the invite.

  • Member role simplified — the old “Member” and “Manager” tiers are now one role: Member (same editing powers, less confusion).

Account Owner

Full control. Can promote others to Account Owner.

Editor on everything, always.

Admin

Runs the day-to-day: manage users, permissions, and content.

Editor on everything by default.

Member

Builds and maintains data but cannot touch org-level settings.

No automatic access; grant on a per-group or per-asset basis.

External

Read-only window for third-party stakeholders.

Viewer only; cannot be elevated.

Landlord

Same as external, but with features to come specifically for landlords
